WOOD WINDOWS
Over the past several decades, it has become a trend around the world for windows to be made from such materials as Aluminum, Vinyl, Fiberglass & PVC. While we certainly do not in any want to offend those companies and their products, we do feel that it is just our marketing rights to re-introduce real wood windows to the marketplace. For while the durability might not be quite as long as some of these other products, the enjoyment, beauty, warmth, and overall appearance of wood far surpasses their products in almost anyone's mind who actually lays their hands on our wood products. Wood is green-friendly, it is renewable, it is beautiful and natural and, best of all, no two pieces look exactly alike so each creation is unique. And while, from time to time, we do ourselves painfully resort to using PVC products for trim, sills and other miscellaneous parts on our windows and doors, we always try and return to what we know best . . . . WOOD.
Wood windows are a great natural insulator, and this evidence can be found in many trade magazines around the nation. As energy restrictions and regulations continue to bite into the American public and find their way into our homes, it is important to remember that wood is, pound-for-pound, the most energy-efficient and abundant material that we can use in both new construction & remodeling homes. Our operating wood windows are truly a cut above the rest in many cases. For starters, we offer several different thickness of sash for each unit we build, so we can engineer the best product for the application. We use several different balance systems, including the ones listed in the HISTORICAL RENOVATIONS section, as well as newer spring-loaded vinyl balances in both tilt and non-tilt varieties from Newell. We also do Magnum windows with heavier duty balances and spiral balances in other applications. We also feature Cal-Royal and Truth hardware, and can fit our units with numerous other custom options that our customers may want or need. All of our units can be fitted with standard 180 Brickmould, or sent without either custom trim (other options are available), or without any trim entirely.
